Information for Teachers
When working for First Resourcing you are a representative of us and it is imperative you maintain a professional standard of behaviour and exemplary attitude.
Our offices are open from 8.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday. There is also a 24hr, 7days a week contact mobile no. so there is no excuse for not making contact with us.
Your pay will be paid on a weekly basis in arrears direct into your account providing you give us the correct payment details. Please ensure timesheets are returned to us by no later than Monday of the following week. Timesheets are your responsibility and without them being returned to us we cannot pay you. It is imperative that the timesheets have been signed and verified by an authorised signatory of the school at the end of each assignment.
Each assignment you do for First Resourcing you may have a different pay rate or shift-times, please ensure you know the rates and times agreed and the duration of your assignment. Please ask a consultant if you are unsure or you have any problems whatsoever, we are here to help.

To enable us to keep you updated of the latest teaching opportunities and accurately match you to our current assignments please keep us updated on any change in your contact details and any additional qualifications or experience you have gained.
Always work professionally and safely and adhere to school policies and procedures by taking notice of, and following signs, walkways etc. and please be aware of all signs and fire escape routes and extinguisher points.
All First Resourcing offices are strictly No Smoking. Whilst on assignment you must only take breaks when advised and smoke or consume food and drink in designated areas only.
Always arrive at your work placement in good time to start your particular shift, preferably 30 minutes before classes are assembled for registration to familiarise yourself with the school before lessons begin. Your First Resourcing consultant will clearly inform you exactly where the school is and who you are reporting to and what the assignment entails. Please always dress formally when attending assignments within schools, avoid denim and casual clothing and keep jewellery to an absolute minimum, visible tattoos must also be covered.
Always take appropriate care when operating equipment and lifting boxes and objects.
If you can not attend any arranged work for any reason whatsoever it is imperative you call First Resourcing immediately failure to do so may result in the loss of a major contract for First Resourcing, putting you and others out of work. Our strict performance monitoring process would mean you would not be offered work again.
Notice permitting, please ensure you are ready prepared for lessons. The First Resourcing consultant will inform you of any lesson preparation or if the lessons are ready prepared. If you are given lesson plans by the school, please adhere to them. If you do not complete all of the work issued please inform the school as to what has been covered. It is a sensible idea to carry work with you at all times as a back up if no work is set.
It is your responsibility to keep up to date on National Curriculum issues and your subject specialism.
Please mark any written work by primary classes before leaving at the end of each day, the same process is required in secondary schools unless your assignment is for a single day. Please plan to leave enough time to in order for you to ensure that the classroom has been left tidy.
Please ensure that you carry out any reasonable requests to the best of your ability made by the head teacher, including tasks like playground duty. The responsibility for classroom control and discipline is that of you, the teacher. You are forbidden from using any physical force to discipline or restrain any child in your control. For your own protection when addressing a pupils behaviour, you are advised to keep your distance. Avoid any action or tone of voice that may be interpreted as aggressive or confrontational. Please do not put or find yourself in a situation where you are alone with a child at any time. Please be aware that you need to set a good example for the pupils with your behaviour.
If you attend a job and you are not completely satisfied with the work you are doing all we ask you to do is finish that particular shift, contact us so we can arrange a replacement and find more suitable work for you.
Whilst on a work assignment should you unfortunately injure yourself or damage any goods/equipment please report this to your supervisor immediately and fill-in an accident report form.
